What you type into the contact form. That is your name, email address, and optionally your company, phone number and the role you are hiring for, plus your message.

Your IP address, when you submit the form. We count submissions per address for one hour, so that nobody can flood the form. The count is discarded after that hour and is never linked to your message or used for anything else.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a script is submitting it. Turnstile receives your IP address and sets a cookie of its own to perform that check. It is a security control, not an advertising one.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data to anyone, and this site sets no marketing cookies.

To reply to you. If you are an employer, to discuss a search. If you are a candidate, to talk about opportunities that may suit you.

Under Canadian private-sector privacy law we collect only what is needed for that purpose, and we use it only for that purpose.

Form submissions are delivered by email to Empire Resource Group, on Microsoft 365. A copy is retained in the sending mailbox as a record of what was sent. Beyond that and the one-hour submission count described above, nothing you send is stored in a database on this website.

If a conversation continues, your details may be recorded in our applicant tracking system so that we can keep track of the search. That system is operated by a third-party provider under contract.

Cloudflare hosts this website and provides the Turnstile check described above, and so processes your IP address on our behalf. Our email and applicant tracking providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country.

Inquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted within twelve months, from the mailbox that received them and from the one that sent them. Where you have asked us to keep you in mind for future roles, we keep your details until you tell us to stop, and we will not treat silence as consent indefinitely.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will act on it. There is no form to fill in and no cost.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
